Gowland of Lost Lane

Found yesterday at a Car Boot Sale for the Soul a relic from the 19th Century - a 19ft Gowland & Co. greenheart salmon rod with drop rings.  Engraved on the butt with the particulars of the shop from which it was sold Nos. 3&4 Crooked Lane in the district of London Bridge. Crooked Lane was demolished at some point in the early 20th Century taking with it one of the capital's most famous streets of tackle makers and dealers.
