At the Sign of The Golden Perch

Once upon a time in Arcadia, on a Thursday in the year known as 1844, ladies and gentlemen abroad on the streets of London and in search of Fishing Tackles would look for the sign of The Golden Perch, for there at 132 Oxford Street J. Cheek traded, a manufacturer of umbrellas, walking sticks, riding whips, archery, fishing rods and tackle and an occasional dealer in cricket bats.

Today in the year of Arcadia and other curses 2013 you may walk along Oxford Street and look in vain for a shop selling riding whips or an occasional dealer in cricket bats.   However, if you are a lady or a gentlemen and you are in need of fishing rods and tackle do not despair simply take the Underground Railway from Bond Street to Liverpool Street along the Central Line and process on foot to my stall at Spitalfields Antiques Market, where at the Sign of the Gagged Pike I buy and sell Vintage Fishing Tackle for the Soul from my stall which is open on Thursdays only between the hours of 8am and 3pm.  I look forward to your good company.
